Chava Shelhav

Dr. Chava ShelhavBorn in Israel, Dr. Chava Shelhav developed Child’Space – The Chava Shelhav Method for Developmental Monitoring. Dr. Shelhav was one of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais’ first students and his assistant both in Israel and abroad.

She holds a master’s degree from Boston University, where whe published her thesis, “Working with Brain Damaged Children Using the Feldenkrais Method,” in 1989. Her doctorate, from the University of Heidelberg (D) in the Departments of Sociology and Life Sciences, examined the effects of the Feldenkrais Method on learning processes and other aspects of childhood.
Dr. Shelhav has published a number of books that have been translated into English and German.

In Israel, Dr. Shelhav has taught the Feldenkrais Method at Seminar Hakibbutzim, the Wingate Institute, the Asaf Harofe Medical Center’s Complementary Medicine Services, and child development centers. Dr. Shelhav is the educational director for Feldenkrais Method teacher training in Israel and abroad. She heads the Center for the Feldenkrais Method in Germany – Feldenkraiszcentrum.

Dr. Shelhav is currently training Child’Space practitioners through programs in Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, Russia, Argentina and the United States.
